This page explains how Haute Blowdry produces what it publishes. It is here so readers can judge our work rather than take it on trust.
Independence
- No company pays to appear on this site, to rank higher in a comparison, or to be reviewed.
- We do not send drafts to companies for approval before publication.
- Advertising and affiliate relationships are handled separately from editorial decisions.
How comparisons are made
Every comparison article states its method: which options were considered, what was measured, and what was left out. Where pricing is involved we show the full cost at a stated scenario — for example a four-chair salon — because headline seat prices routinely hide processing fees and add-ons.
Where we have not tested something ourselves, we say so and cite where the information came from.
Prices and specifications
Prices change. We re-check the figures in pricing-led articles on a quarterly basis and update the article rather than leaving a stale number in place. The last update date shown on an article reflects a real change to its content, not an automatic refresh.
Sources
Claims about safety, regulation, insurance and licensing are attributed to the originating authority rather than to unnamed “experts”. Statistics are linked to their source.
How articles are produced
Research and drafting are assisted by software tools. Every article is checked by a person before publication for accuracy, sourcing and clarity, and we are responsible for what appears under our name regardless of how the first draft was produced.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us at the contact form. Factual errors are corrected promptly. A correction that changes the substance of an article is noted at the foot of that article with the date. We do not quietly delete mistakes.
Reader benefit comes first
We would rather tell you that the cheapest option is good enough than push you toward the one that pays us more. If an article ever reads otherwise, that is a failure of ours and we want to hear about it.
